Taos is immediately hiring a Linux Systems Administrator with AWS (2nd Shift) for a cutting-edge tech company in Mountain View, CA!
Who you are:
You are a self-motivated and performance-driven Linux Administrator with current AWS experience. You have excellent written and verbal abilities that make you a persuasive and credible communicator. You have a hands-on Configuration Management and Scripting background. You can easily earn the trust of colleagues and senior management and have an appreciation for employees and end-users. You have an assertive side but always maintain a professional demeanor. You thrive in roles with a high level of visibility within an organization and are willing to take necessary actions to deliver on commitments.
What you’ll be doing:
  • Supporting Australian locations by working 2nd shift hours (i.e. 1-9 PM, 2-10PM – 3-11PM)
  • Managing, deploying, and securing Linux Systems
  • Supporting product development through scripts and tools writing
  • Supporting QA function by enabling automated testing, continuous build, and the release process
  • Providing support to deployment and production issues during and off regular office hours
  • Participating in an on-call rotation: 1 week primary, 1 week secondary, 2 weeks off
  • Creating, setting up, and running performance tests to help determine optimal hosting configurations
What you’ll bring with you:
  • At least 7 years of experience in Linux Administration
  • Experience with AWS in an enterprise environment
  • Understanding of what it means to run a global large-scale virtualized infrastructure in the Cloud
  • Comfortable with Bash, Perl and/or Python scripting
  • Familiarity with:
    • Source code control (GIT preferred)
    • Monitoring: Nagios (preferred)
    • Operating Systems: Linux (Centos OS/SUSE)
    • Software: Jira, Jenkins, Confluence
